# Thread Implementation Threads are basic units of CPU utilization. In modern operating systems, process creation is costly while thread creation is relatively inexpensive. There are two main types of thread implementations: 1. **User-Level Threads** 2. **Kernel-Level Threads** ## User-Level Threads In user-level threads, all thread management is done by the application. The kernel is not aware of the existence of these threads and manages them as if they were single-threaded processes. ```c++ #include

Kernel threads, on the other hand, can be scheduled on multiple processors but have more overhead due to context switches in the kernel.
